From Sept. 7 to 8, APEC High Level Symposium on IPR, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, was held in Xiamen. The Symposium discussed 3 special topics: Latest Progress Made by APEC Members in IPR, Fighting Against Counterfeit and Piratical Products---Cooperation and Development in Asia-Pacific Area, and IPR and Market Competitiveness.
Persons in charge of IPR from China, USA, Russia, Japan, Australia, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and delegates in law and commerce attended the Symposium. Fu Ziying, Assistant Minister of Commerce delivered an opening speech to the Symposium.
Ma Enzhong, Deputy Secretary-general of the State Office of Intellectual Property Protection, gave a speech with a title of "Latest Development of China in IPR Protection", he pointed out that from last year, China did an effective work in intensifying criminal enforcement, strengthening internal cooperation and enhancing propaganda, and made great progress in IPR protection.
