In the afternoon of November 11th, 2005, the office of the State IPR Protection Working Group held the 8th session of the regular communication and coordination mechanism with foreign investment enterprises in Xian, with a view to understand the focus of attentions of the international community to China’s IPR protection and to listen to opinions and suggestions of foreign investment enterprises on IPR protection.
Participants were people in charge of organizations including the Ministry of Public Security, the State Industrial and Commercial Administration, the State Intellectual Property Office, 15 IPR protection priority cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Laioning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shannxi, Anhui, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Henan, Guangdong as well as 5 separate planning cities of Shenzhen, Xiamen, Ningbo, Qingdao, Dalian and leading departments for the specialized campaign. 50 representatives from Quality Brand Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, representatives from Quality Brand Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment made introduction on their organization, performance of the regular communication and coordination mechanism, development of IPR protection, and informed the participants of investigations on counterfeited products in some locations. Upon hearing the opinions and suggestions from representatives of foreign investment enterprises, participants indicated that they would not avoid problems, and they would carefully study the issues and provide feedbacks to strengthen and improve the regular communication and coordination mechanism.
