From August 10 to 11, State Office of Intellectual Property Protection sponsored Symposium on Special Campaign of IPR Protection in national significant areas in Xi'an of Shaanxi province, on which the issues as how to strengthen the IPR protection and carry out each special action were discussed.
Persons in charge of local Intellectual Property Office and leading units in 15 significant areas of Special Campaign, Beijing, Shanghai, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hunan, Guangdong and 5 municipal cities, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Ningbo, Qingdao, and Dalian attended the symposium.
Zhang Zhigang, Director of the State Office of Intellectual Property Protection and Vice Minister of Commerce, attended the symposium and delivered speech. He said, the Special Campaign on IPR Protection had entered the last crucial phase now and according to the guidelines established by State Council, "Fulfilling Promises, Basing on National Conditions, Perfecting System and Providing Positive Protection", we must intensify law execution, coordinate furthermore in law execution, break through the key tache and promote the development of the Special Campaign. At the same time, we must continue attaching more importance to propaganda and education work and try to make progress in building long lasting mechanism.
On the symposium relevant persons in charge from Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Culture, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, National Copyright Administration and State Intellectual Property Office reported on the progress and the existed problems of the Special Campaign on IPR Protection. Professor Wu Handong, expert of IPR Protection, was invited and also held a lecture on the relations between IPR Protection and economic development.
